Breakfast Program |

Our breakfast program is offered daily at no expense to our students
from 8:15 to 8:50. All
students are welcome. Menu Our breakfast
program follows the Canada’s Food Guide for Healthy Eating.
Our menu consists of milk, 100% pure fruit juice, toast, cheese
whiz, peanut butter, waffles, muffins, fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe,
honey dew melon, apples, oranges & bananas), fruit cocktail, yogurt
and cheese.

Sponsor Our breakfast
program is sponsored by the Kids Eat Smart Foundation.
The Kids Eat Smart Foundation provides us financial support (start-up, sustaining and matching grants).
The foundation also provides us program
support though workshops. Topics
such as best practices training, nutrition education, and menu planning
are covered. Volunteer
support is also provided by the Kids Eat Smart Foundation.
Walk
to Breakfast Our
school launched the first Annual TD Canada Trust Kids Eat Smart
Province-Wide Walk to Breakfast on Friday, October 14, 2005 raising
approximately $4000.00 for our breakfast and lunch program. On October 20,
2006 our school also participated in the 2nd annual Kids Eat
Smart Walk to Breakfast raising over $2300.00 dollars for our breakfast
program and $2300.00 for our lunch program.
We look forward
to your participation in our next walk to breakfast in October, 2007.

to Try At Home (Healthy Eating School Resources Manual) Banana
Bran Muffins 1 cup bran
cereal 1 cup milk 1 egg 2 tbsp brown
sugar 1 large ripe
banana 2 tbsp soft
margarine 1 ¼ cup flour 1 ¼ tsp
cinnamon Directions Place cereal in
a mixing bowls. Then combine
milk, eggs, and sugar to add to mixing bowl Allow to stand
for 10 minutes Mash banana
with margarine and stir into bran mixture. Add sifted
flour and cinnamon, Mix with a
wooden spoon until almost combined. Spoon into
greased or paper-cup lined muffin cups. Bake in
pre-heated oven at 350 for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 12
